One of the best parts of an Arkansas summer is enjoying ripe, juicy tomatoes.
Most years tomato season hits its stride in late June and early July, just before the sweltering heat settles in. But this has been an unusual summer — cooler than average and less dry than most — and many Arkansans’ tomato gardens are still going strong.
But fall will be here before we know it, which means succulent, flavorful summer tomatoes will soon be a distant memory.
