A Mountain Home woman died early Friday morning after her vehicle hit a culvert — a structure that allows water to flow under a road — on Arkansas 5, officials said.
The accident occurred at about 2:20 a.m., according to an Arkansas State Police Report.
Bridget Frost, 38, was traveling south in a 2000 Mercury vehicle on Arkansas 5 when her vehicle ran off the road, hit a culvert and then came to a final stop in a ditch, the report states.
It is not clear at this time what caused Frost's vehicle to veer off the road. Police describe the conditions as dry and clear at the time.
Frost's death marks the 331th fatality in traffic accidents on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary reports.
