Candice Leigh Gordon and Davide Alciato Botta exchanged marriage vows at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, in San Martino a Mensola in Florence, Italy. Officiating was Monsignor Paolo Tarchi.
Parents of the bride are Kuba and Neal Gordon, 2222 Lambert Road. Her grandparents are John and the late Janice Naylor and Patsie and the late Hubert H. Gordon, all of Little Rock.
Lelia and Pablo Alciato Botta of Prato, Italy, are the parents of the groom. His grandparents are the late Mario Bartolini, the late Silvana Bartolini, the late Piero Alciato Botta and the late Dina Alciato Botta.
Two large arrangements of yellow and white roses, freesia, peonies and daisies decorated the chancel. Music was by violinist Jacob Ventura and harpist Elena Maria Gaia Castini. Readings were by Patrizia Bartolini and Maria LuceAlciato Botta, aunts of the groom; Antonella Salveti, and Isabel Eggart.
The bride, escorted by her father, wore a sleeveless lace gown with a chapel train. The bodice had a scalloped neckline, a plunging back and a beaded belt at the natural waist. Her skirt extended to a chapel-length train. She carried a bouquet of craspedia, English roses, freesia, peonies and daisies in yellow and white.
Chasity Taylor of Little Rock served as her sister’s matron of honor. Attending the bride were McNeill Eggart and Breeann Taylor, niece of the bride, both of Little Rock. The two women wore sunbeam-yellow dresses and carried bouquets similar to the bride’s.
Flower girl and ring bearer were Samantha Taylor and C.J. Taylor of Little Rock, niece and nephew of the bride.
Best man was Matthew Carrabsand groomsmen were Filippo Bombardieri and Filippo Mazzei.
Seating the bride’s grandmother and mother were William Eggart and Matthew Taylor of Little Rock.
A reception was held at Villa Viviani beginning with appetizers and drinks in the garden, followed by a formal dinner. Tables covered in ivory cloths were decorated with yellow and white wedding flowers.
The bride has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, with additional studies in industrial design undertaken in Florence.
The groom has a master’s degree in marketing from Scuola Scienza Aziendale in Florence and is employed at Bartolini Ripresentanti as an independent textile sales representative.
After wedding trip to Japan, the couple will live in Prato.
