ARKADELPHIA — Coach Scott Maxfield picked up his 50th win as Henderson State's head coach as the Reddies rolled to an 82-10 win over Southern Nazarene University.
The 82 points scored on Saturday were the most by a Reddie team since Henderson scored 99 against Arkansas Baptist in 1932.
Henderson State, 1-0 on the season, also set several records including an HSU and Great American Conference best 855 yards of total offense, 55 yards shy of the NCAA Division II all-time mark of 910. The Reddies also totaled a GAC record 557 yards passing.
2012 GAC Offensive Player of the Year Kevin Rodgers completed 17 of 25 passes for 468 yards and six touchdowns in less than three quarters of play.
