One person was killed and two injured, including a toddler, when a vehicle ran off the road and overturned Sunday in Jackson County.
Tiffany Lee Duty, 25, of Jonesboro was driving a 1996 Pontiac south on U.S. 67 about a mile south of Swifton when the vehicle went out of control, Arkansas State Police said in a report.
The Pontiac went off the highway shortly after noon and overturned, ejecting passenger Jeremy Lee Bayles, 24, of Imboden, police said. Bayles was fatally injured.
Duty and a 1-year-old boy who was also in the vehicle were taken to Harris Hospital in Newport with unspecified injuries.
It wasn't clear what caused the vehicle to leave the road. Conditions at the time were described as clear and dry.
The death was the 335th fatality in a traffic accident in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
