According to the Entergy website, a majority of customer have regained power and 173 remain without it as of 6 p.m.
A majority of the area that is still without power runs west to Interstate 30, east to E. 15th Street, south to as far as the Oakland Fraternal Cemetery and north down College Street.
More than 1,000 customers are without power in downtown Little Rock on Tuesday afternoon.
Entergy's website shows about 1,068 customers currently without electricity. A call to Entergy regarding the cause of the power failure was not immediately returned. The outage occurred at 3:08 p.m., according to the site.
The failure mainly affects those in the MacArthur Park and Hanger Hill areas of downtown near the Interstate 630 and I-30 interchange. A map on the site shows the failure extends west to Scott Street, east to 15th Street, south to the Oakland Fraternal Cemetery and north to Byrd Street and Capitol Avenue.
The site estimates that power should be restored around 6 p.m.
