ROSSTON — A soldier from southwestern Arkansas who was killed in Afghanistan is to be remembered at a funeral this weekend.
The remains of Army 1st Sgt. Ricardo D. Young are to arrive Friday and a funeral is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Nevada County High School in Rosston.
The Texarkana Gazette reported that Smith Funeral Home in Stamps is handling arrangements.
A visitation for the 34-year-old Young is set for 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Young is to be buried at New Salem Cemetery in Rosston.
Young was killed in Ghanzi Provice on Aug. 28 when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire.
He was assigned to the 307th Engineer Battalion (Combat/Airborne), 20th Engineer Brigade, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, N.C.
