Police do not expect foul play was involved in the death of a woman whose body was found Tuesday afternoon in a wooded area of Conway County.
Deputies with the Pope County and Conway County sheriff's offices responded about 2 p.m. to Bridge Hill Road near Jerusalem, where an individual had located the vehicle of Cheryl Higgins of Atkins, according to a statement from the Atkins Police Department.
Officers searched the immediate area and located Higgins' body. Atkins police had reported Higgins missing early Tuesday morning. Information provided by Arkansas State Police indicates that Wednesday would have been her 54th birthday.
Higgins' body was sent to the state Crime Laboratory for an autopsy.
