Little Rock man robbed of wallet, cellphone at gunpoint

A Little Rock man was robbed of his wallet and cellphone at gunpoint early Tuesday while trying to walk home along Asher Avenue, authorities said.

Officers were flagged down about 1:35 a.m. by a man who told them he was walking home in the 5800 block of Asher Avenue when he was robbed by an unknown black man, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

The victim said he was behind the Coleman Place apartments, which sit at 5801 Asher Ave., when he heard the man calling him and asking him to stop, police said. The robber pulled out a black handgun and demanded the victim's wallet and cellphone, which he handed over, according to the report.

The robber — described as a black man, about 5 foot 10 and 150 pounds, wearing a red hat, white T-shirt and white sport shorts — then fled west on Asher Avenue, police said. Officers said they searched for the robber but didn't find him.
