Little Rock police took reports of 68 burglaries in which more than $71,000 in property and cash was taken in a week's time.
The Little Rock Police Department investigated 63 residential burglaries and five commercial burglaries reported from Sept. 6 through Thursday, according to preliminary data released daily by the agency. There were 51 residential burglaries and six commercial burglaries in the same span a week earlier.

Not all of the break-ins included information about how much property was taken. But those that did totaled $71,010.99 worth of stolen items.
The highest concentration of burglaries was in the 72209 zip code, where 23 of the 68 — more than one in three — were reported in the week. Eight were reported in the 72205 zip code, and six each in the 72227 and 72211 zip codes.
There were 18 robberies reported in the week, with five of them in the 72204 zip code, four in 72202 and three in 72205.
