One man was killed and another man was injured from a car wreck on Friday afternoon in Rose Bud, authorities said.
The accident occurred at about 2:49 p.m. in dry and clear conditions, according to an Arkansas State Police report.
Police say Weldon R. Ford, 53, of Quitman was traveling north in a 2002 Chevy Venture on Arkansas 5. Ford was driving on a curve when his vehicle left the road and struck a tree, the report states.
Passenger Timothy R. Root, 36, of Augusta, was thrown out of the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.
Ford was taken to the UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock for unspecified injuries, authorities said.
Root's death marks the 340th fatality in traffic accidents on Arkansas roads this year, according to preliminary reports.
