Friday’s lineup includes musical performances starting at 6 p.m. on the First National Bank Beatles Park Stage on Abbey Road; the talent show (music and dance categories) gets underway at 2 p.m. Saturday on Cavenaugh Chevrolet’s Rock n’ Roll Highway Stage just off Main Street with cash prizes for the winners.

Music Director Philip Mann will be on the podium and Martina Filjak will be at the keyboard as the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra opens its 2013-14 Stella Boyle Smith Masterworks Series with an all-Russian program, titled “Tchaikovsky & Rite of Spring,” 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m Sunday at Robinson Center Music Hall, West Markham Street and Broadway, Little Rock. The rumbling and partying in Fayetteville this weekend won’t be because of the Razorbacks. It’s time for the annual Bikes, Blues& BBQ festival with bike and car shows, music, parades, food, games and, new this year, an air show.

The Hillcrest neighborhood closes part of Kavanaugh Boulevard to traffic during the annual Harvestfest on Saturday. It all starts with a bird walk in Allsopp Park at 7:30 a.m., followed by the Run 4 Shelter 5K at 8 and a pancake breakfast at 9. The street festival starts at 11 with children’s activities, a car show, music, a U.S.

This weekend you won’t be able to turn around in downtown Hot Springs without bumping into a magician, a wizard or an illusionist. Magicians Jay Scott Berry and Hot Springs’ own Maxwell Blade are producing the first Weekend of Wonder magic festival, showcasing close-up, stage and street magic and one-man shows Friday-Sunday at a dozen venues around the Spa City. Art, music, food and the out-front fountain will all be components of the inaugural Fountain Fest, 5:30-8 p.m. today in and around the Carrie Remmel Dickinson Fountain at the Arkansas Arts Center, 10th and Commerce streets, Little Rock. The event will feature music by the Funkanites, food from Whole Hog Cafe, desserts from Cupcakes on Kavanaugh and drinks provided by Moon Distributors, Goose Island Brewing and Stone’s Throw Brewing, plus a chance to interact with the Yarn Bomb installation, which debuted Tuesday. Tickets are $25, $10 for Contemporaries members. Proceeds benefit the Arts Center and the Contemporaries, an auxiliary group of young art enthusiasts; the goal is for the auxiliary to donate a piece of art to the Arts Center’s December Collectors Show.
