Man beaten, robbed of fishing lures outside Little Rock gas station

A 42-year-old Alexander man told authorities he was beaten and robbed by two men who approached him after he bought fishing lures at a Little Rock gas station.

It happened about 12:15 a.m. Thursday outside a station at 5223 S. University Ave.

Little Rock police say the victim was walking across the lot after purchasing the lures when two men came up and asked for money.

The victim said he didn't have any, at which point the two men "started hitting him" and then grabbed his lures and fled, according to a police report.

The victim was taken to UAMS Medical Center for treatment of a shoulder injury.
