Police: Man beaten after telling group he 'doesn't like being around crack cocaine'

A homeless man in Little Rock said he was beaten and later jumped and robbed of $40 after telling a group that he "didn't like being around crack cocaine," authorities said.

The 37-year-old victim suffered "numerous bruises and scrapes" to his head and face but declined a trip to the hospital after the Thursday afternoon assault, according to a Little Rock police report.

The man told investigators he was at the Stewpot at Eighth and Scott streets about 1 p.m. when he was beaten by three men after telling them he "didn't like being around crack cocaine," the report said.

The victim said the three men then followed him to a nearby alley, where they jumped and robbed him of the cash.

No arrests have been made.
