Audubon Society Meeting
DARDANELLE — The Arkansas River Valley Audubon Society will meet at 7 p.m. at Dardanelle State Park’s Visitor Center. The program will be presented by Chris Keller, a professor at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. His subject will be How to Manage Hardwood Forests for the Cerulean Warblers. Cerulean warblers have attracted National attention as a result of their decline in the Ozark National Forrest. Visitors are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served. Chamber Luncheon
HEBER SPRINGS — The quarterly luncheon of the Heber Springs Area Chamber of Commerce will be held at noon at the Heber Springs Community Center. Ozark Memories Day
DOVER — The 35th annual Ozark Memories Day will be held Saturday. The free festival, sponsored by the Dover Area Chamber of Commerce, includes a parade, a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Dover Lions Club, games for all ages, craft booths, vendors, an antique car show, a magician, a Dutch-oven cooking contest, and a chicken dinner sponsored by the Dover Band Boosters. Music during dinner will be provided by various Dover Junior High and Senior High school bands. Cash Dash 5K
HEBER SPRINGS — The Cash Dash 5K race and 1K leashed-pet

CONWAY — The Conway League of Artists is taking applications for membership. The league meets at 7 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month at the Faulkner County Library in Conway. Antique Fair
MORRILTON — The Morrilton Depot Museum will hold its fifth annual Antique Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 5. People are encouraged to bring antiques — furniture, pottery, silver and other treasures to be appraised by experts from Pinnacle Auction and Estate Services, and John and Phyllis Saugey and Betty and Terry Saugey of Saugey’s Antiques. There will be a $5 donation applied for each three items to be appraised, with proceeds benefiting the museum. There will also be a bake sale and a silent auction.
Fall Festival

Mountain Man Rendezvous
LESLIE — The second annual Leslie Mountain Man Rendezvous will be held Oct. 11 and 12. Re-enactors will camp in tents in Leslie and will wear pre-1840s period clothing. The rendezvous will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. There will be knife- and tomahawk-throwing demonstrations, as well as shooting demonstrations. Chinese Culture
CONWAY — The Faulkner County Library and the University of Central Arkansas’ Confucius Institute will offer Adventures in Chinese Culture at 2 p.m. Oct. 12. Participants will learn the traditional Chinese tea ceremony. The class is limited to 30 people, and sign-up is required. Also, a class on Chinese paper crafts will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 26. Patrons need to bring their own scissors. A third class, on making Chinese dumplings, will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 16. The class is limited to 20 people, and sign-up is required.
