Little Rock Police are searching for a suspect who is accused of robbing a man at knifepoint and taking his car in south Little Rock.
Shortly after midnight Sunday an employee of Luv's Truck stop agreed to give an unknown man, later identified as 46-year-old Gerald Perryman, a ride to a residence on Chicot Road after the victim's shift. The victim told police he did not know Perryman, who had been loitering around the truck stop for most of the day.
After stopping at a Super 8 motel, 11701 Interstate 30, to allow Perryman to pick up some personal items he said he'd left in a room, the two men proceeded to drive toward the residence, the report states. During the ride, Perryman purportedly put a knife to the victim's throat and told him to pull into the parking lot of an Arvest Bank branch located at 10206 Mablevale Plaza Drive, where he demanded the victim's wallet and forced him out of the vehicle, according to the report. The victim, fearing for his life, then fled on foot as Perryman drove off in the vehicle, the report states.
Police say they were able to identify the suspect with help from the manager of the Luv's Truck Stop and employees at the motel.
Little Rock Police spokesman Sgt. Cassandra Davis said no arrests have been made in the case.
