A Little Rock man was taken into custody Tuesday after he returned to a home he had broken into earlier that morning.
According to a news release from the Little Rock Police Department, the incident occurred around 7:50 a.m. at a residence at 12 Edgehill Road. The suspect, Kinete Dodson, 38, entered the home through an open garage door, but was quickly told to leave by a female resident. Dodson fled in a 2007 white Dodge Ram truck, which was later discovered to have been reported stolen at gunpoint out of North Little Rock.
Officers who investigated the incident found the truck parked at 15 Edgehill Road. The vehicle was locked and a handgun was sitting in the driver's seat, the release stated.
According to the release, a man matching Dodson's description returned to the house a short time later while police were at the scene. The man, who was later identified as Dodson, was placed in handcuffs and searched.
Authorities found the key to the stolen Dodge truck in Dodson's pocket and he was arrested on multiple charges including residential burglary, felony theft by receiving, possession of a firearm by a felon and felony theft of property.
