A 69-year-old man who escaped from prison more than 35 years ago was found and arrested this week in Garland County, authorities said Wednesday.
Michael R. Morrow was taken into custody in Jessieville on Monday on a federal warrant from California, where he had been sentenced in 1973 to five years to life on a first-degree robbery conviction.
Morrow, who had been going by the name Carl Frank Wilson, escaped in 1977, authorities said. The Garland County sheriff's office, which assisted federal officials with the arrest, said he gave details of his escape after he was taken into custody without incident.
It wasn't clear when Morrow would be transported back to California. He was listed as an inmate in the Garland County jail Wednesday morning.
