An employee of a Saline County plumbing business is accused of taking thousands of dollars worth of copper from the company and then selling it to a salvage yard.
Officials from Dyer Plumbing reported about $8,000 in copper taken in late August or early September, adding that they believed an employee might be involved, the Saline County sheriff's office said in a news release.
Investigators logged onto an online database that tracks salvage yard sales and found that employee Travis Crabb, 33, had sold items matching the ones taken to a salvage yard.
Crabb was arrested Tuesday at a Saline County motel. Police say he admitted taking the copper and selling it.
