Man robs woman he met at LR hotel

A New Jersey resident said a man whom she met at La Quinta Inn & Suites in Little Rock had stolen $1,000 in cash and her black iPhone 4, according to a police report.

The robbery occurred about 7:20 a.m. Wednesday at 617 S. Broadway St., the report states.

Inestroza Brielle, 22, said she met the man Tuesday night while smoking near the hotel's parking deck. Brielle said they went to her room "just to hang out for awhile," and on Wednesday morning, Brielle said, she told the man that he had to leave her room.

The report says the man grabbed her smartphone and purse, which had the $1,000 in cash in it. Brielle said she tried to grab her purse back from the robber, who she said started to punch and kick her.

Brielle said she chased the him to the hotel's stairwell but was unable to catch up with him. She said she last saw him running north from the hotel, according to the report.

Brielle had a scratch on her upper right arm from the incident, the report states. She refused medical treatment and said she didn't know the robber's name.

The unidentified robber is described as a black male and wearing a white T-shirt and red, baggy, long shorts, the report states. He stands at 5 foot 8 and weights about 150 pounds, police said.
