Woman held in Pine Bluff shooting

Pine Bluff police said Thursday that they have arrested a woman in the nonfatal shooting of a man on West 23rd Street.

Officers were called about 10 a.m. Thursday to a home at 700 W. 23rd St. in reference to the report of a shooting, the Pine Bluff Police Department said in a statement.

There, officers found Lee Ashley, 53, had been shot at least twice in his “lower torso,” according to the statement. Police said they arrested a woman who seemingly shot Ashley during a domestic disturbance, but they declined to identify her pending the filing of formal charges.

She was was taken into custody without incident, police said.

Ashley's did not appear to be life-threatening, according to the statement.
