"Extensive work" will require closure of the Arkansas 140 bridge in Mississippi County for a number of weeks, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said Friday.
Crews will be repairing the bridge, which spans the Little River and sits near Etowah in western Mississippi County, starting 9 a.m. Monday, the department said. This span, which serves as the primary route between Osceola and Lepanto, will be closed to all traffic for about six weeks, highway officials said.
Drivers will be detoured to Arkansas 136 and Arkansas 77, the department said.
Barrels and detour and warning signs will be used to alert traffic, highway officials added.
