Teen removed from refrigerator at gunpoint after standoff

A 19-year-old man wanted on a warrant was ordered out of a refrigerator he was hiding in after a "lengthy standoff" Thursday in North Little Rock, authorities said.

Tyrel Curtis Moore was then arrested on charges of fleeing and intimidating a witness.

Police say they went to Moore's home in the 3500 block of North Willow Street about 4 p.m. to serve a warrant on the latter charge.

Officers met Moore at the front door and told him he was wanted, at which point he "ran back inside and locked the door," according to a North Little Rock police report.

"After a lengthy standoff, officers searched the residence and discovered Mr. Moore inside a refrigerator located on the northeast side of the residence," police wrote in the report.

Moore was removed from the refrigerator at gunpoint and then taken into custody without further incident.

He remained in the Pulaski County jail Friday morning with bail not yet set. A court appearance is set for Tuesday.

Details on the initial incident for which the warrant was issued weren't immediately known.
