Jill Kathleen Ploszay and Nathan Lee Harrod exchanged marriage vows at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, in First Baptist Church, Sherwood. Officiating were the Rev. Jason Daniel and Paul Barber.

Parents of the bride are Janie and Johnny Ploszay of North Little Rock. The bride is the granddaughter of the late Mildred and Granville Pearce of North Little Rock and Eleanor Ploszay and the late Steve Ploszay, both of Lincoln, Neb.

The groom is the son of Audrey and Bruce Harrod of Springdale. He is the grandson of Marilyn and Charles Matthews of Hot Springs, Wanda Ottinger of Mount Ida and the late Robert Harrod of Malvern.

The chancel held three pairs of columns decorated with burgundy tulle and topped with green ferns. Music was by pianist Karen Harris and soloist Amy White.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore an ivory A-line gown of lace over satin embellished with beaded floral embroidery. The bodice had cap-sleeves and a silver beaded belt at the Empire waist. She carried a bouquet of burgundy roses.

Serving as the bride’s matron of honor was Rebecca Montgomery of Rison. Bridesmaids were Joy Ploszay of North Little Rock, sister of the bride, and Ha Vuong of Fort Smith. They wore knee-length dresses of ivory satin with black lace overlays and sheer quarter-length sleeves of black lace. Flower girl and ring bearer were Millie Montgomery and John Montgomery ofRison.

Best man was Jason Harrod of Springdale, twin brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Daniel Harrod of Rochester, Minn., brother of the groom, and Brian Porter of Hot Springs. Guests were seated by Ed Montgomery and Michael Harrod, nephew of the groom.

A reception in the church fellowship hall followed the ceremony. Guest tables alternated centerpieces of tall glass cylinders filled with curly willow, gold branches and white hydrangeas; and vases each holding a submerged rose surrounded by votive candles.

The bride is a cum laude graduate of Baylor University in Waco, Texas, with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and is American Chemical Society certified. She graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences with a doctorate in pharmacy and is board certified as a pharmacotherapy specialist. She is a practicing pharmacist and is also an ambassador with the UAMS College of Pharmacy.

The groom is a graduate of Henderson State University in Arkadelphia and has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in computer science. He is a Cisco Certified network professional and employed as a network analyst at Windstream Communications.

After a wedding trip to Kiawah Island, Charleston, S.C., the couple will reside in Little Rock.
