BENTONVILLE — A bomb threat discovered at Bentonville High School forced an early dismissal of the school today.

The students were set to be released at 12:15 p.m., said Mary Ley, district spokeswoman. The threat was discovered at about 10:30 a.m. in a South Building restroom, she said. The South Building was evacuated at the time but the North Building remained open.

The Bentonville Police Department's bomb squad is investigating and searching the school.

"To do a thorough search, we had to send students home," Ley said.
