FOOTBALL Two ASU games moved

At least two of Arkansas State’s 2014 games will be on national television and the date of a nonconference game was changed Tuesday.

The Sun Belt Conference announced Tuesday that ASU’s game at Texas State has been moved to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22, and it will be televised on ESPNU. ASU’s Oct. 21 game at Louisiana-Lafayette - the two schools shared the Sun Belt title last year - will be on ESPN2.

ASU also announced Tuesday that its nonconference game against Utah State in Jonesboro has been moved to Sept. 20. The game was originally scheduled for Sept. 27.

ASU now has an open date Sept. 27 before hosting Louisiana-Monroe in its first Sun Belt game on Oct. 4.

Announcements on other games to be televised will be made at a later date, the conference said. ESPN has until June 1 to select games played in the first three weeks of the season, a window that includes ASU’s season-opener vs. Montana State on Aug. 30 and visits to Tennessee on Sept. 6 and Miami on Sept. 13. After that, games are available to ESPN up until 12 days before the game.

The league is currently looking for options with the Sun Belt Network after Comcast Sports Southeast, a carrier for the Sun Belt Network, announced last month it would cease operations June 1.
