Three LR radio employees fired Thursday

By Lisa Burnett

This article was published April 4, 2014 at 11:02 a.m.

— KARN News Radio 102.9 FM in Little Rock terminated three of its employees Thursday, according to former radio host Dave Elswick’s Facebook page.

His Facebook status from Thursday night states: "I ask for your prayers tonight. After nearly 14 years on KARN I was fired by Cumulus Media. Bob Steel and News Director Jack Heintz were also fired. I have no idea what will be on the station tomorrow. Know that I love everyone of you who have supported me over these years. God Bless.”

Calls to Cumulus Media were not immediately returned.

Web pages for Elswick and Steel’s radio shows have been taken down from the KARN website.

Karn has shot itself in the foot. Dave is one of few bright spots on radio. Anyone know why?

KARN shot themselves in foot years ago when they went from news radio to "Right Wing" voice. Could this be the beginning of return to sanity? One can hope.

Wasting time on the internet is exactly what I was doing when I ran across this news article. Fortunately the author told me how much time I was wasting by reading his column.

We can only hope this was a business decision and not born of political correctness. Will someone with the DG do a little investigative reporting to see?

How are we going to hear about Jobs, Jobs, Jobs, Jobs, IRS scandals, Benghazi , standing up to the Russians, job creators, duck dynasty, fear, hate and the war against Christmas and ground hog day. Perhaps some semblance of fair reporting of the facts can come out.
