FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences says it is engaging in a public-private partnership for an internal medicine residency and other programs at its Fayetteville campus.
The medical school announced Thursday that the collaboration will also include funding for a physical therapy academic program.
More than $2 million in donations from foundations, individuals and economic development grants are helping pay for renovation and construction and program support.
The grants were awarded to UAMS by the Northwest Arkansas Economic Development District and the Western Arkansas Planning and Development District.
Plans call for a physical therapy clinic to open in late 2014. The internal medicine program is on track to admit its first physicians in July 2015.
