North Little Rock’s downtown will open a free photographic exhibition Saturday focusing on the Beatles and the 50th anniversary of the rock ’n’ roll group’s first trip to the United States.

According to the exhibit’s marketing materials, displays of about 200 photographs, including some never before available to the public, will be at various locations in the city’s downtown Argenta Arts District.

The exhibition opens to the public at noon Saturday and continues April 14-19.

Special events related to the exhibit that will require purchased tickets are also planned.

A full schedule, exhibit locations and ticket information for private events are available at argentaartsdistrict.org.

The Beatles performed live Feb. 9, 1964, on The Ed Sullivan Show, drawing an audience of 73 million viewers. The band led what is called the British Invasion of musical acts to the United States in the 1960s.
