Party honors Puzzler pianist after artist-in-residence stint

Composer, performer and pianist Bruce Adolphe, probably best known for the segment Piano Puzzlers on American Public Media’s Performance Today, was the guest of honor at a reception in the Conway home of Suzanne and Dr. Brad Banister on March 21.

Adolphe had been serving as an artist in residence at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, March 19-21. In addition to meeting with music students and giving the lecture “Imagination in Performance,” the pianist played in concert with UCA faculty several of his compositions, including the second movement of his newest composition Mary Cassatt: Scenes From Her Life, commissioned by UCA and inspired by paintings at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville.

Guests at the Banister home visited with Adolphe and enjoyed drinks and a buffet.
