MONTICELLO — University of Arkansas at Monticello Chancellor Jack Lassiter has announced plans to retire as of Dec. 31.

Lassiter made the announcement at a campus meeting Tuesday. He said he plans to spend more time with his family that includes three children and seven grandchildren.

UA System President Donald Bobbitt said he will conduct a national search in consultation with UAM faculty and staff to find Lassiter's successor.
