Acxiom exec to talk on big data, privacy

Acxiom Corp.'s chief privacy officer will deliver a public speech Friday in Little Rock about balancing big-data and privacy issues, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock said.

Jennifer Barrett Glasgow, who has overseen global privacy and public policy for Little Rock-based data broker Acxiom since 1991, will discuss the changing role of the privacy professional and what the future holds for the field, UALR said in a statement.

The speech comes as Acxiom moves to update its data website to give consumers a better look at the information the company has collected about them.

Glasgow's speech is set for 3 p.m. Friday in the Engineering and Information Technology Auditorium on the UALR campus. The speech is free and public, and no tickets or reservations are necessary.
