— A man has been charged with first-degree battery after he led officers to where a woman had been shot, the Little Rock Police Department said.

Little Rock officers responded to a call about some unknown trouble at 3 a.m. Sunday, police said.

When police got to the scene at 8485 Stanton Road, they saw Juan Montalba, 25, yelling in the middle of the road.

Little Rock Police Department spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen said Montalba directed the officers to a parking lot, where Lemen Arana, 32, was in the front passenger seat of a vehicle with a gunshot wound in her head.

Allen said MEMS responded to the scene and took Arana to UAMS Medical Center, where she is listed in critical condition.

Montalba was interviewed and was arrested on a charge of first-degree battery on the basis of the statements he gave to officers, police said.

At Ilayhardwood people shoot one another every day it doesn't matter if they are white, black, brown, yellow, red, green, or blue. How about you keep your racist comments to yourself. If this was your family or friend you wouldn't want anyone to say anything like that. She is one of my friends the last thing I want to read is your comment on here.

Lemen was not an illegal. She worked hard and was a good friend to everyone she worked with. I agree with Giancarlo. You didn't know Lemen, why be racist about her? Every person that is a victim of domestic violence deserves to have a voice! I will be Lemen's voice if need be. Her children don't need to see anything negative about their mother who worked hard to provide and did so legally!!!!
