Elsewhere in entertainment and the arts: ‘Concussive’ talk

Mark Fainaru-Wada and Steve Fainaru, authors of League of Denial: The NFL, Concussions and the Battle for Truth” will give a talk titled “League of Denial” at noon today in Sturgis Hall, Clinton School of Public Service, 1200President Clinton Ave., Little Rock.

Fainaru-Wada is also co-author (with Lance Williams) of Game of Shadows: Barry Bonds, BALCO, and the Steroids Scandal That Rocked Professional Sports. Fainaru, his brother, is a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer for The Washington Post.

Forrest City fest

Entertainment, a bigger and more modern carnival midway and the debut of the King Crawfish and Seafood Phestival mark the second annual outdoor Phanatical Phunphest, today-Sunday, 2307 N. Washington St. (adjacent to Edwards Food Giant), in Forrest City.

The seafood festival, which will feature crawfish, catfish, ettoufee, frogs’ legs, shrimp and alligator, among other delicacies, starts at 5 p.m. Fridayand 11 a.m. Saturday.

Fun Time Shows of Doniphan, Mo., is providing the carnival. The festival will also include a Thursday karaoke night and Community Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday.
