Little Rock Police Department officials are seeking the public's assistance to identify a man who robbed the Valero convenience store at 7320 Cantrell Road early Sunday morning.

A police report states Jonathan Neal, 35, of Little Rock called police at 2:16 a.m. about the robbery. Neal, who said he was across the street at a Shell gas station when the robbery occurred, went to the Valero to check on Lonnie Hollis, 39, of North Little Rock after he thought he heard a gunshot and saw a black male running from the store.

Hollis, who works at the Valero, told police that he was sweeping the floor when a man — who was described as standing about 5-foot-9 or 5-foot-10, weighing 160 to 170 pounds and wearing a black windbreaker suit, blue latex gloves and a white mesh bag over his head — came into the store and pointed a black handgun at him. The robber then chased Hollis around the front of the store and fired one round at him, but Hollis was not struck, the report states.

Hollis said the robber demanded all of the money from the store and fled northbound toward Timber Ridge Condominiums with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the report.

Those with information about the robber's identity or whereabouts are asked to call detectives at (501) 371-4660.
