Traffic on South University Avenue will be limited to one lane in each direction in the vicinity of Asher Avenue beginning tonight to accommodate continued work on a water main, Central Arkansas Water said Monday.
The lane closures will be just north of Asher and, to provide a safe work environment and minimize the effect on traffic, will begin at 7 p.m. and last until 6 a.m., the utility said.
The work is expected to continue during the same hours Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
The lane closures are required to complete permanent repairs associated with the March 26 break of a 12-inch water main at the intersection that was caused by a contractor, the utility said.
