The death of a Little Rock woman whose body was found in her home late Tuesday morning was a homicide, police reported.

Debbie Bush, 56, was found slain in her bedroom at 4122 Tatum St. shortly before 11 a.m. Mattie Norman, a concerned friend and co-worker, found the body when she visited the home because Bush had not shown up for work and couldn’t be reached by phone. Norman entered the home through an unlocked carport door, according to a police report, and found Bush’s body on her bed.

Bush’s car, a beige 2002 Cadillac DeVille, was not at the home. Investigators believe it was stolen.

Police spokesman Sgt. Cassandra Davis said it was unclear how long Bush had been dead and the cause of death is under investigation, but that “evidence at the scene” indicated she had been killed.

Bush’s death is the 13th homicide in Little Rock this year.
