FORT SMITH — A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for the Arkansas National Guard's new training facility at Fort Chaffee.
The $26 million Combined Arms Collective Training Facility will allow the military and law enforcement the opportunity to train in real-life situations. The new training center consists of 18 buildings and is meant to recreate a small city.
The center includes a school, municipal building, residential homes, a mechanic's garage and more.
Fort Smith television KHBS reports that the center includes 189 cameras so officers can record and review training sessions.
The ribbon-cutting is planned for 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
