A North Little Rock man who police suspect was driving while intoxicated when he hit another vehicle head-on Tuesday night, critically injuring one, has been arrested.
Taron Bell, 31, remained in the Pulaski County jail Wednesday on charges including first-degree battery, driving while intoxicated and reckless driving.
Police say one person in the vehicle that was hit was listed in critical condition with injuries that were possibly life-threatening.
According to a Little Rock police report, Bell was driving a vehicle east on Asher Avenue at a high speed when he "attempted to pass a vehicle and hit the victim head-on."
"Subject had a strong odor of intoxicants on his breath," police wrote of Bell, adding he refused a chemical test and "had no driver's license."
An April 22 court date is set.
