‘Deadly’ documentary

Journalist, author and Little Rock native Deborah Robinson will host the screening of the Academy Award-nominated documentary The Act of Killing at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Ron Robinson Theater, 1 Count Pulaski Way (on the back side of the Arcade Building, President Clinton and River Market avenues), Little Rock.

Joshua Oppenheimer’s 115-minute, unrated film challenges unrepentant members of Indonesian death squads during the 1965 military overthrow of the government by re-enacting the killings in the style of the American movies.

It’s the first in a month of the “Deborah Presents …” series in which Robinson, who now lives in Las Vegas, will host films, concerts, conferences, authors, speakers, artists, celebrities, entertainers, politicians and newsmakers.

Tickets are $10. Call (888) 411-2440.
