Police work the scene of a robbery at the Bank of America branch at 200 W. Capitol Ave. in downtown Little Rock on Friday, April 18, 2014.

Police on scene say the Bank of America in downtown Little Rock was robbed Friday morning.

Detectives were on the scene at the branch, which sits on the ground floor of the Bank of America tower at 200 W. Capitol Ave., questioning employees and looking for evidence after the 9:30 a.m. robbery.

Little Rock Police Department Lt. Sidney Allen said the robber handed a note demanding money, which the teller provided. He left on foot in an unknown direction.

Preliminary scanner traffic indicated the robber was "possibly armed."

When are the banks going to say; "enough is enough" and do something to stop these holdups? One of these days a nervous amateur robber is going to hurt someone.

It's already happened at a bank on Cantrell. Nice young man was murdered.

@HarleyOwner: Businesses routinely tell cashiers not to resist robbers; resistance actually makes a shooting MORE likely. As they say, property can be replaced; a human life can't.

Perhaps RBB would be willing to contribute some of his bank deposits to that bowl.

HarleyOwner, what would you suggest they do?

A simple solution would be a trap door just inside the entrance that deposited the bad guys into a cage filled with one-eyed cottonmouth snakes. All the teller has to do is push a button and the perp is entertaining his peers.......

Any of you concealed-carry permit holders care to volunteer as a bank security guard? Nah, didn't think so -- too much potential for stray bullets (from your gun OR the robber's) hitting innocent bystanders. Insurance can replace a teller's stolen till, but NOT a dead teller (or customer).

Well, nlrar, for starters, they could hire off duty Police officers. Banks certainly have the financial resources to do that. And most cops could certainly use the extra money.
