A traffic stop in Ward ended with one man's on drug charges on Thursday, Lt. Jim Kulesa with the Lonoke County sheriff’s office said in a statement.

About 5:10 p.m., Lonoke County Sheriff John Staley initiated a traffic stop on Arkansas 367 and Helen Street. Staley pulled over Jackie Andrew Jackson III, 23, of Jacksonville for purportedly crossing the lanes improperly and found that he had a suspended driver’s license, Kulesa said.

Jackson was arrested for driving on a suspended license, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Around 8:30 p.m., a tip led deputies to John Emmett Davis, 35, of Cabot, who had an outstanding felony arrest warrant, Kulesa said.

Kulesa said that Davis was attempting to crawl out of the window of an apartment complex in Cabot before he was taken into custody. Investigators at the scene located and seized about 2 grams of methamphetamine in the form of “ice,” drug-related paraphernalia and prescription medication, Kulesa said.
