BENEFICIAL BASH

Osmond a little bit funny, a little bit serious at benefit

With warmth and humor, Marie Osmond delivered the keynote address April 9 at the 25th Anniversary Bolo Bash Luncheon at Baptist Health Little Rock.

She spoke about “finding a hero, being a hero and inspiring others to be a hero.” She noted, with emotion, that her mother was her hero and a “constant light she could follow.”

Her talk included funny and painful stories from her life, and nuggets of wisdom, such as “Your past is your past. You have a spotless future,” and “Today you never have been this old and today you will never be this young again, so right now matters, every single second, every single minute.”

During a program before the luncheon Peggy Jones was given the Silver Platter Award, presented by Shayla and Scott Copas, for her long-term and continuous support of Baptist Health and the community.

Susan and Herren Hickingbotham were luncheon co-chairmen. Herren noted that funds raised - $189,000 - would be used to expand the hospital’s neonatal unit.
