Woman jailed after raid finds child, gun

Jacksonville narcotics detectives were serving a warrant Friday at an apartment at 1202 S. Arkansas 161 when they found a small child in a bedroom containing what police believed to be methamphetamine, marijuana, pipes for drug use and a rifle.

Heather Pierce, 21, who was in the bedroom with the child, was arrested and charged with six felonies, including endangering the welfare of a minor and three misdemeanors related to the marijuana.

Pierce remained in the Pulaski County jail Saturday afternoon.

A Little Rock man waved around two defaced guns and threatened to shoot his former live-in girlfriend and her 16-year-old daughter Friday afternoon, authorities said.

Rodney Peoples, 35, of 6213 Senate Drive, also was in possession of marijuana and is a convicted felon, according to an arrest report.

Peoples was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a family or household member, two counts of terroristic threatening, two counts of possession of a defaced firearm, possession of marijuana, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Peoples pleaded guilty to criminal use of prohibited weapons in 2009.

He remained in Pulaski County jail Saturday afternoon.
