Rachel Elaine Nash became the bride of James William Kent Graham at 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 14, at The River House at Lowndes Grove in Charleston, S.C. Officiating was the Rev. Eyleen Farmer of Calvary Episcopal Church in Memphis.

The bride is the daughter of Mary Elizabeth and Allen Keith Nash of North Little Rock. Her grandparents are Marilyn and the late Thomas Purcell Nash Jr. of Jacksonville and the late Mary and Hubert Paul Quertermous of Little Rock.

Parents of the groom are Mary Ann and the late James Glenn Graham of Memphis. He is the grandson of the late Elizabeth and James Ray Graham of Union Springs, Ala., and the late Doris and William Leonard Asbridge of Memphis.

White hydrangeas with emerald ribbon lined the aisles as markers at the outdoor ceremony. Music was by Andrew Mille.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory A-line gown of lace and tulle. The fitted lace bodice with a V-shaped neckline and back had a satin band with a crystal brooch detail at the waist. She carried a cascade of cream and white roses, white hydrangeas, pale pink and white ranunculus and white French tulips.

Dr. Lauren Nash Hendrix, of Lexington, Ky., sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore an ivy green lace knee-length dress with eyelash lace trim and a matching grosgrain ribbon sash. She carried a cascade of blush pink roses, berry pink ranunculus and garden roses and white hydrangeas.

Jennifer Ferren of Cordova, Tenn., served as the groom’s honor attendant. Chad Hendrix of Lexington escorted the bride’s mother; Steven Hickman of Hillsboro Beach, Fla., escorted the grandmother of the bride; and Thomas Thomley of Memphis escorted the mother of the groom.

A reception, also at River House, followed the ceremony. Cocktail tables were centered with gold mercury glass or white milk glass vases filled with blush pink and berry pink garden roses. Guest tables alternated centerpieces of milk glass or gold mercury glass pedestals topped with white hydrangeas, blush pink roses, white peonies and berry pink ranunculus.

The bride graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English from Westminster College in Fulton, Mo., and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She received a master’s degree in secondary English education from Emory University in Atlanta. She is a secondary English teacher at Providence High School in Charlotte, N.C.

The groom attended Yale University in New Haven, Conn., and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y., with an associate’s degree in occupational studies in culinary arts. He is executive chef at little Spoon in Charlotte.

The couple will make their home in Charlotte and plan a wedding trip to Spain at a later date.
