Shoulder work on Arkansas 1 will require a lane closure in Desha County next week, according to a news release from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department.
Crews will be constructing asphalt shoulders on Arkansas 1 between Back Gate and Watson, reducing traffic to one lane in that area, the release states.
The lane closures will begin Monday and continue through May 8. The closures will be limited to Mondays through Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weather permitting.
Traffic in the area will be controlled using flaggers, cones and warning signs, the release said.
