Conway teen fatally struck by train

A Conway teenager has died after he was hit by a Union Pacific train Sunday afternoon, police said.

Sean Studler, 17, of Conway was reportedly wearing headphones and walking along the train tracks just west of the Salem Road overpass in Conway about 1:40 p.m., Conway Police Department spokesman LaTresha Woodruff said in a statement.

As the train passed through the Donaghey Avenue and Tyler Street intersection, Woodruff said, the train's conductor noticed the teen walking along the track farther down.

The conductor blew the whistle and attempted to stop the train, but the train didn't stop in time and struck the teen just west of the Salem overpass, according to Woodruff.

The case is still under investigation.
