A man accused of shooting two people Sunday morning is now booked in the Pulaski County jail on attempted capital murder charges, officials said Monday.

Pulaski County sheriff's office deputies responded about 8:38 a.m. to a shooting in the 700 block of Metsy Lane, where they found Jessica Upchurch, 32, and Gary Carter Jr., 34, suffering from gunshot wounds, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported Monday.

A sheriff's office spokesman said a domestic dispute prompted Jason Vance, 35, to shoot at Upchurch, his ex-wife, and Carter. Either Upchurch or Carter fired back at Vance, the newspaper reported.

Pulaski County sheriff's office Lt. Carl Minden said Monday that Upchurch and Carter were treated for their injuries and released from a local hospital.

Vance, who also suffered gunshot wounds in the shooting, was released from a local hospital Monday and booked into the Pulaski County jail.

Minden said Vance is being held without bail on two counts of attempted capital murder, three counts of aggravated assault, two counts of aggravated residential burglary, possession of a firearm by a certain person, criminal possession of body armor, theft by receiving and violation of a protection order.

An arrest report states that Vance is due in Pulaski County District Court on June 3 at 9 a.m.
