Arkansas candidates address farmers' group

NORTH LITTLE ROCK — Candidates for Arkansas' top offices, including a hotly contested U.S. Senate race, are speaking to a group of farmers during a day-long forum.

The Arkansas Farm Bureau on Tuesday plans to hold a "Measure the Candidates" forum for its members at the Wyndham Riverfront Hotel in North Little Rock. The Farm Bureau represents more than 192,000 member families around the state.

Candidates scheduled to speak to the group include Democratic U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor and his Republican rival, U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton. Neither faces opposition in their respective primaries May 20.

The forum also includes appearances by candidates running for several other statewide offices, including governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general.
