Arrest made in Rogers school threat

A 16-year-old boy was arrested Thursday in connection with a threat found Wednesday at The Annex, according to a news release from the Rogers Police Department.

The Annex is a Rogers School District building that houses New Tech High School, Crossroads alternative school, Crossroads Extended Day School and the district's Professional Development Center on South First Street.

The boy was arrested on suspicion of communicating a false alarm, a felony.

The threat, found in a boy's bathroom, wasn't specific and didn't indicate any immediate threat to students, according to the news release.

Six Northwest Arkansas schools have received 18 threats in recent weeks, and officials say those responsible face serious consequences.
